It works the same way a house walk works except you go from artist studio to artist studio. Visit Artist's studios: see their newest work - some in progress, see them work and talk about their artistic process. The Art Walk is an excellent way to view and buy original art from the artists in your local area, from upcoming artists to museum quality ones.

"Many community members enjoyed the 2008 walk including Sycamore resident Margaret Branan who was moved to near tears when she visited the studio of Charlotte Rollman. Rollman's studio walls are covered with images that brought Branan back to her days in Texas and after a recent move to Sycamore she said she felt "at home again". Matthew, Branan's ten year old grandson and Art Walk partner also enjoyed the walk. Branan said this of the walk "the thing that impressed me the most, however, was the time and interest many of the artists took talking to my grandson Matthew. He told them what he liked and they showed him how to develop his talent and make it better... thank you one and all for taking the time to talk to a little boy and not just brush him off as too young to know what he was talking about".

The Art Walk is great for all ages and is an event even for the whole family. Ticket packages can be arranged for larger groups (family groups) just call and talk with Susan Edwards the director."

Maps will be given out the day of the event. The cost is $20 per ticket, and tickets can be purchased until the day of the event at the Art Attack, DeKalb Area CVB, Bliss Beads Lincoln Highway DeKalb and at Show sponsor Hauser Ross 2240 Gateway Drive in Sycamore.

Art Walk 2009 is a fundraiser for the Art Attack - School of Art in Sycamore. The Art Attack teaches art to ages 2 - Adult and has an exhibiting space for area artists. The monies raised will be used for summer scholarships and general operating.
