Funky and Fabulous Painting
We will learn how to use acrylic paints to paint on many different surfaces creating some funky finds. We’ll use chairs, brooms, trays, and other objects you can add new and fun twists to them.

Creative Lettering
Learn techniques to make your lettering more creative to use in scrpabooking, crafts, and home décor. We’ll use color pens, paint, transfers and many other ways.

Watercolor Painting with Graydon Cafarella
He teaches in the follow me format that will help you learn various brush techniques, washes and spattering, wet into wet and many other techniques.

Pottery Classes
Classes will focus on throwing functional pottery on the wheel. In addition, we will learn how to finish and accent our thrown pots with a variety of glazes.  We’ll have a lot of fun, develop our creativity, and come away with a good foundation in pottery.

Class Fee: $90 for each 6 wk session - includes clay, firing, glazing with glaze fire. All pottery students are encouraged to come in and do extra practice at a time convenient for them; there is no extra charge for this.

Hand Building Pottery Classes Class Fee: $90 ages 9 and up
experiment with different varieties of designs to create beautiful works of art. We will be introduced to different handbuilding techniques such as pinching, slab construction, tile making, and coil building.  We will also learn how to decorate our pieces with various glazes. This is a simple beginner’s class into hand building with clay. 5 – 7 pm, Fri, Session I: Jan 21 – Feb 25; Session II: Apr 1 – May 5   

Drawing the Human Figure*                         
Class Fee: $75 (6 weeks)

Artists can study the basics of drawing the human figure, facial features, body language and others. We will have a clothed model for drawing the last two weeks. Intermediate level artists can expand and practice their skills in the fundamentals of figure drawing. All supplies are supplied for this class, but you may want to bring your own or what you have to learn with your tools.
Basic pencils 2H, HB, 2B, 6B; eraser, blending stump is really all you need.
Ages 12 to Adult,  Thursdays 7:00 to 9:00 pm April 14 – May 19
*Advanced artists can join in the class during the model weeks (May 12 & 19) for only a model fee of $15

Cartooning                                                
Learn the art of cartooning using drawing, shading and coloring techniques. Use basic shapes and guide lines to help you create exciting characters All suppliesare included! Instructor: Andy Hognisto, Class Fee: $60 ; Youth ages 9 – 14 yrs old: Apr 1 – May 6, Fridays, 4:30 – 6:00,

Jewelry - Ages 10 and up
Simple Beading – learn the basics of beading, how to start how to end and other essentials; make necklace, bracelet and earrings. Ages 10 to Adult; Cost:$40 for basic glass beads, added cost for fancier beads Apr 23, 1:20 – 4:00
 
Girl Friend Fun – grab your girl friend and make necklaces or lariats, bracelets and earrings that match, or do something on your own. We will have goodies for added fun.

Bring Mom and make something together
 
Design Your Own – learn all the basics of beading but you have more chose in the design that you make. Ages 12 to Adult, May 22, 1:30 – 4 pm make necklace and earrings; Cost:$40 for basic glass beads, added cost for fancier beads

The Art Attack, 215 W. Elm Street, Sycamore, Illinois 60178 - (815) 899-9440. We are located at 215 W. Elm St., in the heart of Sycamore, IL. It is easily accessible from Rt. 23 and Rt. 64. It is on the corner of Somonauk and Elm St., a block from the County Courthouse.
