Dear Community Friends,
Do you have a Heart 4 Art? It takes a community to pull together a program like the Art Attack. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to empower creativity for all ages throughout the community. We enrich lives, enable learning at higher levels and help to keep minds sharp by serving DeKalb County in offering a wide variety of creative classes and programs. We need YOUR help.

We started Heart 4 Art funding campaign in 2008 when our granting funds were cut by 80%!  This year finds us in the same situation where grants and donations are down; however, we are also faced with many more people asking for scholarships to our programming. Because of your generous donations we have never turned away the people who needed help.

We do not receive tax dollars or any incentive monies from the local municipalities or county government as other extra curricular activities do in our area. We rely solely on donations and programming fees for our source of income. Yet, we do not charge any more than those other programs in our area so that we keep the cost down for families and individuals and make it easier for them to have a creative outlet.

We can tell story upon story how kids, adults and others find purpose and meaning in our programming. One story stands out:

An Opportunity House client told how “it calms me and keeps me from having bad feelings”. When she entered the hospital once again for another round of treatment, she requested that all her drawing things be brought so she could keep herself calm and focused on healing.

We are again asking for households to support us with a small donation per family.
If only:              -150 families or businesses giving $100!
                         -30 families or businesses giving $500!
                         -15 families or businesses giving $1000!
we will have the $15,000 we seek to keep our programming alive and well for our community. You are part of the solution. These funds are greatly needed for the Art Attack to empowering creativity for all ages!  Thank you for keeping art programming in our community.

All donations will be posted on our web site unless requested otherwise. Donations of $500 or more will be listed on our donors’ wall and a web link can be provided for businesses for one year.  For Donations of $1000 or more all the above is available plus sponsor ship on all programming flyers and newsletters. Year-end financial statements can be provided for anyone who requests a copy.
